Try Dives and Training for Beginners

We have a number of new members signed up for an Ocean Diver Course at the end of Feb.
If you're interested and want more details, please contact us ASAP.

Calshot Sub-Aqua Club offers the entire range of BSAC diver training from total beginner to Advanced Diver. Initial training requires a number of lectures and pool session before progressing to open water (ie, in the Sea!)

Before all of this though, you'll want to see if you like it - therefore we organise regular 'Try Dive' sessions where a qualified instructor will take you in the pool with scuba gear to let you get a feel for what it's like. It's safe, exciting and great fun!

Try Dive LectureTry Dive Pool Session

Try Dive sessions start at 7:30pm with a short presentation about our club, including our affiliation to BSAC (the British Sub-Aqua Club), the training we offer and the diving we do both in the UK and abroad. You'll then get in the pool for a short swim test (just a few lengths and a duck dive to retrieve an object from the deep end) followed by a quick snorkelling lesson, after which we get you into scuba gear and you'll experience what it's like to breathe underwater for the first time!

Try Dive sessions cost £10 per person (which is refunded if you decide to go on and join the club) and are normally run at Hounsdown School (SO40 9FT) near Totton.

All you need to bring on the night is a towel, swimming attire, and an old T-shirt to help keep you a bit warmer in the pool. If you do have any snorkel or diving kit, feel free to bring it along.
